{"id":315,"date":"2026-06-15T08:46:51","date_gmt":"2026-06-14T20:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gydja.com\/?p=315"},"modified":"2026-06-15T08:46:51","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T20:46:51","slug":"gydja-completes-trilogy-of-albums-on-winter-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gydja.com\/?p=315","title":{"rendered":"Gydja completes trilogy of albums on Winter-Light"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gydja returns to Winter-Light with a new full-length album, <em>N\u00edu kom ek heima fyr Niflhel ne\u00f0an<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>N\u00edu kom ek heima fyr Niflhel ne\u00f0an<\/em>\u00a0brings to a close the trilogy that began with <em>Ar var Alda<\/em>\u00a0and its depiction of cosmic creation within the primordial void of Ginnungagap, and was continued with the exploration of the cosmic eleven-fold river \u00c9liv\u00e1gar in<em> \u00dej\u00f3\u00f0\u00e1ar Fn\u00e6stu Eitri<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In this final entry, Gydja turns to the nine worlds touched by \u00c9liv\u00e1gar&#8217;s venomous streams, using as its title a line from the poem <em>Vaf\u00fer\u00fa\u00f0nism\u00e1l<\/em>, in which the giant Vaf\u00fer\u00fa\u00f0nir describes how he \u00a0had travelled into the underworld, coming to nine homes or worlds beneath the realm of Niflhel.
